Princeton Emergency Program
The Town of Princeton has an Emergency Bylaw and accompanying emergency plan, which provides for the establishment, administration and operation of an Emergency Response and Recovery Plan. Both town staff and Princeton volunteers are trained to provide emergency managment in the event of an emergency or natural disaster.
Everyone is encouraged to make their own personal emergency preparedness plans. Being prepared to be on your own without help for 72 hours or more, at home, in your car, or at work, will give you peace of mind knowing that you and your family are prepared. Some basics in preparation include:
In the event of an emergency or disaster, reception centers will be set up for registration and inquiry. The number and location of reception centers that may be opened and set up would be dependant on the nature of the situation and the evacuation measures necessary. In the event of an emergency or natural disaster, listen to your battery powered radio, check this website and social media (e.g. Facebook) for further information.
The Princeton Emergency Program includes Emergency Social Services (ESS). ESS is operated by local volunteers that provide primary services like: food, shelter, clothing and family re-unification in the event of an emergency or natural disaster.
